Twisted Chicken Cordon Bleu

This recipe puts a twist on the classic French dish that will be an incroyable addition to your dinner tonight.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 4 large Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • 4 slices Cheddar Cheese
  • 4 slices smoked turkey
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 large Egg, beaten
  • 1 cup Bread Crumbs, italian seasoned
  • 4 tablespoons Butter, unsalted
  • 1/2 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 small Onion
  • 4 slices Gouda Cheese


  1. Pound chicken breast to ¼-inch thickness.
  2. Fry chopped onion in a bit of oil until brown, set aside.
  3. Sprinkle each chicken breast on both sides with salt and pepper.
  4. Place 1 gouda cheese slice, then 1 smoked turkey slice then 1 white cheddar slice and add a bit of the chopped fried onions on top of cheese in each breast.
  5. Roll up each breast using toothpicks to secure if necessary.
  6. Prepare three separate bowls for dredging… Bowl 1- Flour: Add some paprika, salt & pepper and a dash of garlic powder to this flour. Bowl 2- Egg: one egg beaten. Bowl 3- Bread crumbs: I used fine plain bread crumbs.
  7. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shake off excess, then in egg and finally in bread crumbs.
  8. Place seam side down in baking dish that has been sprayed with a non-stick cooking spray.
  9. Add 1 tablespoon butter on top of each piece of chicken.
  10. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
