Portobello Mushroom Burgers

Portobello mushrooms are the steak of vegetables. Served on a bun with all the fixings, this will fulfill your craving for a great burger!

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Basil, dried
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano, dried
  • 4 large Portobello Mushroom Caps
  • 4 slices Provolone Cheese


  1. Place the mushrooms, smooth side up, in a shallow dish.
  2. In a small bowl whisk vinegar, oil, basil, oregano and garlic together. Mix in salt and pepper to taste. Let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes, turning a couple of times.
  3. Preheat grill for medium high heat.
  4. Brush grate with oil.
  5. Place mushrooms on the grill, save remaining marinade.
  6. Grill about 5 minutes on each side, until tender. Brush with marinade frequently.
  7. Top with the cheese for last couple of minutes of grilling.
