This is a great sauce if you do meal prep and want something you can freeze without loosing its taste and texture.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Oil, olive, salad or cooking
  • 2 tsp Garlic, raw
  • 2 cup, whole Mushrooms, white, raw
  • 800 gm Tomato Paste
  • 1 cup Tomatoes, crushed, canned
  • 5 leaves Basil, fresh
  • 2 cup Soup, chick broth, Low Sodium, cnd
  • 700 gm Tomato Sauce

1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.

2. Add onion, garlic and mushroom and saute until soft and translucent, about 2 minutes.

3. Add remaining ingredients and stir to combine. Bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and let thicken. If not using all the sauce, allow it to cool completely and pour 1 to 2 cup portions into freezer plastic bags.

4. Freeze up to six months.
