A simple Hearty Sirloin Chili recipe!

Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 cup Flour
  • 2 pounds Beef Sirloin
  • 2 large Onions
  • 1 large Green Bell Pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 1 large Red Bell Pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 2 large Jalapeno, seeded and chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
  • 1/4 cup Red Cooking Wine
  • 2 cups Beef Broth
  • 2 cans Crushed Tomatoes
  • 2 cans Black Beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 cans Kidney Beans
  • 1 bunch Scallions


1. Heat oil in a large heavy pot over medium high heat. Cut sirloin into bite size pieces then toss in flour, salt and pepper on a plate until well coated. Brown sirloin on all sides in pot. Remove meat to a plate and cover. 2. Add a little more oil to pot if needed then throw in onions and cook over medium heat a few minutes until they start to soften. Stir in green and red peppers and jalapeno peppers. Cook another 3-5 minutes. Add chili powder, cumin and oregano. Return browned meat to pan and pour in cooking wine and beef broth. Bring to a boil and cover and reduce heat to a simmer. 3. Cook 45 minutes or until meat is tender. Add crushed tomatoes and cook another 20 minutes. Stir in black beans and kidney beans and gently simmer for ten minutes. Serve topped with scallions and any other toppings you desire.
