A simple Chinese Beef with Scallions recipe.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Cooking Oil
  • 1 large Onions, Sliced
  • 3 large Garlic Cloves, Thinly Sliced
  • 2 teaspoon Corn Starch
  • 2 teaspoon Soy Sauce
  • 2 teaspoon Red Cooking Wine
  • 2 teaspoon Oyster Sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon Sesame Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar, Or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Salt, Or to taste
  • 6 stalks Scallion, Cut into 2-inch Strips
  • 1 pound Beef Tenderloin, Thinly Sliced
  • 3 dash White Pepper Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dark Soy Sauce


1. Mix together the corn starch, soy sauce and red cooking wine. Marinate beef for at least 10 minutes in the mixture. 2. Heat a frying pan with 2 tablespoons of oil and stir-fry the marinated beef until they are half-done. Dish out and set aside. Drain the beef. 3. Heat up the remaining oil and stir-fry the garlic and onion until aromatic. Add the beef back into the frying pan and do a few quick stirs. 4. In a small bowl mix together the oyster sauce, soy sauces, white pepper, sesame oil and sugar. pour over beef mixture and continue to stir-fry until the beef slices are completely cooked, then add the scallions into the pan. Do a few quick stirs, add salt and more sugar to taste, dish out and serve hot with steamed rice.
